Mobility of Vazquez and Hampel to Stockholm University

UC team gave a seminar to the staff members of the SU to present the currently running research activities and find a common field of interest. Team members of the UC participated in the field course organized for students to identify and describe different soil profiles. The participation was very useful to learn new teaching methodology, which could be used later in the MSc. Program in Engineering for Water Resources Management. Team members of the UC participated in a sampling campaign where samples of sediment were taken from the bog environment for a running project by the SU team. The SU and UC teams met several times for the following issues:
i) the progress of the MSc thesis of SU student. The final structure of the thesis was defined and the missing analyses revised;
ii) the SU and UC teams defined the exact protocol of the field work of a SU student at the UC;
iii) meetings with two MSc students and their supervisor were organized to discuss their work in the paramo ecosystems and suggest solutions for the emerged problems they encountered;
iv) a collaborative project was discussed in the field of using isotopes to map the hydrological cycle.
During the stay at Stockholm University, the UC team started to elaborate a teaching material for the MSc. Program in Engineering for Water Resources Management. The objective of this training material is providing advanced training for MSc. students on the use of modeling tools to assess water security issues under climate change considerations.
